Scanning QR Codes from Screenshots
Have you ever been browsing social media, received a promotional QR code in an email, and realized you can't point your own phone's camera at its own screen? The 'Scan from Image' feature solves this digital dilemma by analyzing saved files.
Android Steps
- Take a screenshot of the QR code or save the image to your device storage.
- Open the QR Scanner AI app.
- Tap the 'Image Gallery' icon located in the top menu of the scanning interface.
- Select the saved image. The app will instantly decode the embedded link or data.
iPhone Steps
- Save the QR code image to your Photos app.
- Launch QR Scanner AI.
- Tap the photo import button and grant photo access.
- Choose the image, and the scanner will automatically parse the result.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
The app says no code was found in the image. What's wrong?
This typically happens if the screenshot is too blurry, the QR code is heavily distorted, or the code is cut off at the edges. Try cropping the image so the QR code is prominently in the center.
Are my photos uploaded to a server for scanning? No. The image decoding algorithm runs entirely locally on your device processor. Your photos are never uploaded or transmitted online.
